Account holders and downloaders: what is the difference?
An account holder creates and manages Magnet Links. Their Gluuer account contains their resources, Saved Contacts, analytics, settings, and subscription details. Plan limits and paid features apply to this account.
A downloader, also called a recipient, is someone who opens a public Magnet Link to access a resource. This includes someone opening a URL Magnet, even though they are not downloading a file.
Downloaders verify their email address but do not need to create a Gluuer account or choose a subscription plan. Requesting a resource does not give them access to the account holder's dashboard, contact list, or billing settings.
If you both publish resources and request resources from other people, you can take part in both experiences. Verifying your email on someone else's Magnet Link is a resource-access action, not a way to manage that person's account.
This distinction is useful when reading help content or contacting support. Questions about plans, Magnet settings, contacts, analytics, and billing belong to the account-holder experience, while questions about access codes, downloads, destination permissions, and consent usually belong to the downloader experience.
