Can I switch a Magnet off without deleting it?
Yes. Switching a published Magnet Off makes it unavailable to recipients while preserving the Magnet for later management. This is useful when a resource needs a temporary pause, a correction, or a campaign has ended but may return.
Off is different from Deleted. A deleted Magnet is permanently unavailable, its resource is removed or detached, and there is no customer-facing restore area. An Off Magnet can be made Live again when it remains eligible under the current plan and no other restriction prevents access.
An Off Magnet still counts towards your plan's published Magnet allowance. Switching your only Free File Magnet Off will therefore not let you publish a second File Magnet. To release that slot, you must permanently delete the first Magnet, accept that its old link will stop working, and then create a new one. Review everywhere the old link has been shared before making that permanent choice.
