Understanding contacts, downloads, and Magnet performance

Contact and download numbers describe different actions. A contact is a unique verified email within your account. A download is a recipient's successful access to a File Magnet's file. Opening a URL resource is not a file download.

One person can request several Magnets or generate more than one activity event while remaining one account-wide contact. For that reason, downloads, individual Magnet contact totals, and account-wide unique contacts do not need to match.

Basic Magnet analytics are available on Free. Lite and Pro also include performance comparison across Magnets. Use My Magnet Links to review the available performance information.

The Weekly Digest's download figures count successful recipient File Magnet downloads. They exclude URL opens, owner previews, and failed downloads.

When comparing numbers, check that you are comparing the same metric, scope, and reporting period. A total for one Magnet is not the same as your unique Saved Contacts total across the account.

For a useful comparison, review similar time periods and consider how widely each Magnet was distributed. A higher total can reflect greater exposure rather than a stronger offer, while a Magnet with fewer views may still perform well among the people who actually reached it.
