How to create your first lead magnet
Creating a lead magnet in Gluuer starts with one simple decision: are you giving someone a file, or access to a URL?
Choose the type of Magnet
File Magnet is for a resource you want to upload to Gluuer, such as a PDF, template, checklist, guide, presentation, image, audio file, video or another supported file.
URL Magnet is for something that already lives online. This could be a Notion page, Google Drive resource, Figma file, private webpage, calculator, video or another online destination.
Create the Magnet
- Open your Gluuer dashboard.
- Select Create Magnet.
- Choose File Magnet or URL Magnet.
- Upload your file or paste the destination URL.
- Add a clear title and description.
- Review the capture experience.
- Create the Magnet and copy your Magnet Link.
A URL Magnet can be ready in about ten seconds. A File Magnet usually takes only as long as the file itself needs to upload.
Write the title for the person receiving it
Use a title that explains what someone will receive rather than using your internal filename.

Share your Magnet
Once created, Gluuer gives you a Magnet Link that you can share anywhere you would normally share a URL.
Good places include your website, Instagram bio, LinkedIn posts, TikTok bio, email signature, QR codes and relevant blog articles.
When someone opens the Magnet, they enter their email address and receive an 8-digit verification code. After they verify:
- a File Magnet gives them protected access to download the file
- a URL Magnet gives them an explicit Open link action
After verification, their email becomes a contact in your Gluuer account.
A note about contact fields
Email is required. First name, last name and marketing consent can also be collected when those fields are enabled for the Magnet.
Marketing consent is separate from access to the resource. Someone can access a Magnet without automatically giving permission for unrelated marketing.
